Interview week!

Hey everyone, I don't have a whole ton to write on this week. We have been in doing interviews with the mission president for most of the week! It was exhausting, but so good! I really feel that there is a new energy that is going through out the mission! It has been so exciting to see! So as we prepared to make the interview schedule, President told us he wanted at least 15 minutes per missionary! It is good that he wants to take time and get to know the missionaries! But he is thinking big!! :)

We have some exciting things in store for the coming months and years!! We are really emphasizing on our mission standards and contacting as many people as we can a day. The mission standard is at least 25 contacts a day with 25 referrals. He has been committing each missionary during interviews to this standard! And missionaries have been seeing more and more miracles as they commit to him, and work as hard as they can to contact people!

So during these interviews that took place, we were asked to present training. So we have about 3 sessions a day that we would train for, and each session is about 3 hours long! And we will do this for the next two weeks! It won't be quite as busy as this last week, because we are cutting it down to just two sessions a day! But we have really been trying to help missionaries see there purpose more fully, and just get them excited!! In the words of our great mission president, " ITS GO TIME"!

So we have been training on our purpose, and about meaningful goal setting with God! It has been so cool to see just the change since we have been presenting this training! We have also been doing our best to plan our day better with setting goals for what we feel God wants to accomplish through us, and then making inspired plans! We then commit our selves to work as hard as we can, and then from there miracles will come!! I know that to be true!

Really the only time we have had to proselyte this week was Saturday and a part of Sunday, and we felt we had great inspired plans. And the adversary defiantly tried to discourage us. And this is just what he tries to do to all of us. All of our plans fell through on Saturday and Sunday. But we knew as long as we did our best, and rely completely on the Lord he would provide! And he absolutely did! Sunday night we got a call from a member saying that North Shore Park (Park up in the Woodlands) Was full of YSA's and that we should go check it out! And we went up there and contacted the best that we could! We came out with 5 people we contacted and talked with, 4 referrals, and handed out 3 copies of the Book of Mormon! What a miracle! God defiantly helped us out and blessed us!

Sorry I am jumping around so much, but also with the training we have been using the analogy of Moroni and the title of liberty! Well while talking about his, we have made our own title of liberty for the mission! We made a decent sized banner that is about 6 feet long, but about 2 feet wide! And on it, we wrote what is written the front of Preach my Gospel from the first presidency!

It says " We challenge you to rise to a new sense of commitment to assist our Father in Heaven in His glorious work. Every missionary has an important role in helping “to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39).

We then a have invited the missionaries to sign the back of the poster and this is symbolic of the story. In the story the people rent the coats and enter into a covenant with God. As they sign they commit to rise to this new sense of commitment. We are going to see so many miracles in the coming months. With the ideas president Mortensen has we will see this work hastened!

And it is official. We have been told that by fall we will be getting our ipads! So we soon will be using those! I know that the Lord is getting ready to accelerate his work so much more! It will be an exciting time! I feel so blessed to be able to participate in this work at this time!

So most nights afters interviews we have been back at the office getting some office work done! And if we had appts we would be out teaching!! We have met with Kyle so more this week, and he is just continuing to progress! I can't remember if I said this already, but he had finished the book of Mormon, and we gave him a preach my gospel. He has started read more out of it, and he has loved learning about it! We met with him last Thursday and had him teach us about the restoration and he did great!

And then he started quoting from Elder Holland about the Book of Mormon! He said during some of his free time he has watched sessions of general conference! He watched general conference of 1978 last weekend! I am so grateful I have been able to get to know him and got to work with him! He was out of town yesterday, so he said he would go to church in Oregon, and he want and said he loved it!! He is always telling us how he wants to be a Mormon already! He is so prepared!! Only two more Saturdays and he will get baptized!! It is just a testimony builder to me of how true this Church is!  I am so happy right now!!

One last thing I would love to share! So today we went downtown to some of the Museums, and on our way back we got off the metro train, and the group of missionaries we were with were walking just a little bit a head of me, and there was a man who was in a wheel chair, and he was very tired, so I offered to push him over to the Walmart where were were going, and it was just such a great experience. We talked with him about the gospel, and he gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon. He was such a nice person!

What I have love so far about my mission is just home much love I have grown for people!  I really felt this desire to share the gospel with him!! It was just a simple act of service that allowed us to talk with him about the gospel! I would invite you to look for opportunities to serve others and bring up the gospel! It is such a great and easy way to do that! I promise you that it will bring so much happiness into your life!

Well that is about all I have to report on for this week! I hope all y'all have a wonderful week!
